Who are you and how did your company start?
Sherwood Prime Care is into its sixth year of trading and is an award winning independent home care provider, serving Worksop and surrounding areas. We are a flexible and dedicated team who provide personal care and/or domestic assistance to people who need that extra help to enable them to lead independent lives in their own home.
In April 2013 I formed the company, after having worked in the financial sector. Through a mutual friend, I met Margaret Staff, our Registered Manager, who shared the same vision to raise the standard of home care and create a high quality care company. Margaret has over twenty years’ experience in a care setting and has gained a wealth of knowledge working in domiciliary care, nursing homes and mental health secure units.
In June 2013, we were registered with the CQC and began to provide support to the local community. It has always been our intention to provide a high quality home care service in our local area, with a dedicated team of happy employees. We believe that we have achieved this by sticking to our original values and genuinely caring about our clients and staff.
Our team has now grown to forty care staff, providing over 900 care hours per week. We are proud to say that for the second year running, we have won the award for being in the top 20 recommended home care companies 2018 in the East Midlands, and are rated the highest in the Worksop area.
What do you like about The Worksop Turbine?
I really like the professional image of the Turbine, along with the help and support of the reception team and centre manager. I regularly make use of the business support seminars which also provide an opportunity to network with other businesses. I truly believe their support and encouragement has contributed to the success of my business.
What projects/ambitions do you have for the future of your company?
Our aim is to "stand out from the crowd" of other care agencies by providing the ultimate quality service, for all of our clients. We believe, by keeping a reasonably sized team of staff, we are able to maintain the best quality of care as well as keeping it personal. Continuity of care is important to the development of relationships. Due to the fact that we do not have huge pools of staff or a large impersonal call centre, we can offer more consistent and personalised care package.
