Meet The Team

The staff team at the Worksop Turbine are an important part of our service. To help you get to know them better we have asked each team member to write a little profile of themselves – click the links to find out more. Say ‘hi’ to them when you see them around the centre and remember – they are here to help you so please feel free to raise any questions or concerns.

We also love your feedback – any comments you have – please do let us know.

  • CG ProfileMy job is to manage the day to day operational aspects of the centre, so that our customers can concentrate on growing and developing within a successful environment.

I have grown with the centre myself and I look forward to the new challenges each day brings. I have a real passion for my work, as I have seen what we offer makes a difference.

I think it is a fantastic concept, that what we offer provides everything a successful business could need.

I have a strong background in customer service and have worked for many years in the hospitality industry, I am a real people person and am known within the centre as a bit of a chatterbox, I like to call this customer engagement.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family.  I also enjoy going to the gym and have just found a new love of the open road on my road bike.

  • Paula Profile PIcHi I am Paula and I’m the Assistant Centre Manager.

My role in the centre is to support the Centre Manager and assist with the smooth running of the day to day operations.
You will normally find me on Reception as I love being at the heart of the centre and enjoy hands on management.

For me this is my perfect role as I have previously managed a business and conference centre in Sheffield and I have also been a Customer Care Manager for Vauxhall  so my main priority is looking after customers and making sure they are completely happy.

I believe that a happy and fun working environment is key to a successful team and this definitely shows here.

Outside work I am always busy and out and about. I live with my daughter, 2 dogs and 2 hamsters – so it’s quite a house full!

  • DSC 2820 1 800x534Hi there I am Yvette one of the Centre Support Assistant's.

No two days at the Turbine are the same, in this fast paced and varied role as a Centre Support Assistant. My main duties involve working with our tenants both in-house and virtual, greeting visitors to the centre who use our conference facilities, along with admin duties.

My previous experience lies in a customer service and internal sales environment, so now working front of house has made a refreshing change! Working with a great bunch of people makes the Turbine a great place to be.

Outside of work I love spending time with family and friends, and sharing new experiences with my 2 young sons.

  • Adele 1Hi there I am Adele the afternoon Centre Support Assistant.

My role involves a variety of different duties dealing with customers and administration.  I really enjoy working on reception and being the first point of contact to welcome our customers and visitors.  I work with a fabulous team, which makes my role even more enjoyable.

I am looking forward to growing within my role and learning new things each and everyday.

Outside of work I love to spend time with my family and friends.  I live with my partner, two children and two crazy dogs, so never a dull moment.

  • David Profile picFrom leaving school, I embarked upon a career in banking, in the days when you covered all jobs from office junior working up to Business Manager.  In 2002 I decided I needed a new challenge and have been helping businesses to start, grow and prosper ever since.  My role within Oxford Innovation is to help the businesses within our Nottinghamshire Centres to maximize their opportunities and achieve their aims and goals.Running a business, large or small can be a lonely place and I firmly believe that an impartial and independent “sounding board” is critical in providing a business with a strategic direction and helps to set realistic, achieveable objectives.  Previous projects I have managed and delivered have included mentoring and coaching support as well as helping businesses with practical issues including identifying and finding new customers, and accessing grant funding.

What I love about this job is that no two days are the same; every business is very individual with it’s own challenges, and there is a tremendous “buzz” from seeing a business reach that next level of success.  I’ve been very fortunate in my career to have met some wonderful people with exciting business ideas, many of whom remain friends long after the support meetings.

Outside of work, earlier hobbies such as marathon running and playing football have now given way to walking, cycling and watching football.  I’ve held a season ticket with Sheffield Wednesday for 35 years now, through bad times and worse, but we live in hope!  I also enjoy cooking and baking and whilst friends have suggested I apply for the Great British Bake – Off, believe me when I say that the café have nothing to fear!

I’m looking forward to meeting all the businesses in the Centres, but if you see me around, or in the café, come and say hello – I would love to have an informal chat and see how I can help your business!   Alternatively you can contact me on the details below:

  • Mick DringGood day to you. I’m Michael Dring. As the caretaker for the centre it is my job to keep it running as smoothly as possible. The jobs I do are many and varied – from hanging notice boards for new customers to completely redecorating offices. No job is too large or too small.

I love the variety of my work and the great rapport with the staff and our tenants makes my days really enjoyable.

This centre is brilliant because everything our customers need is here, under one roof, with people available to help them if anything goes wrong – even me!

Not everyone knows that I am the proud owner of a 1962 Lambretta scooter. I am re-living my youth as an old mod from the sixties – loving it.
